It's critical to take snapshot of where you are before you begin so you have something to compare the new data to as well.

Comment on Is measuring ROI in Social Networking possible or should it be ROR?

I agree ROE...my favorite part of Twitter and FB is receiving and sharing (re-tweeting)real time testimonials from my customers. To me, that's the best part of my small biz-connecting with my customers. I especially love it when they send pics!

Comment on Is measuring ROI in Social Networking possible or should it be ROR?

I'd have to vote for "ROE" - Return on Engagement!

Social networking is all about building relationships and that, to me, means "engaging" with people on all kinds of levels.
There is a difference between "social media" and "social networking". In today's marketplace, customers and clients are asking (almost demanding) to build relationships FIRST.

I think this is definitely a change for the better. Many consumers are getting really tired of all the in-your-face marketing tactics (like TV commercials) that "interrupt" and disrupt the flow of their daily lives.

Bringing the "human" factor into the realm of business is a MUST!

Comment on What's with the map?

I have a map too and it's fun to see the surprised look on family and friends when they see it.
